Obsolete Graphical Event Display

This display is now obsolete and is, by default, disconnected. For more details see section 3.3

As from 2.06, the SNOMAN event display package makes use of high level graphical routines included in the standard CERNLIB HIGZ (High level Interface to Graphics and Zebra) and HBOOK (histograms) libraries. These two libraries are further supported by underlying drawing packages such as X11, PHIGS, GKS, DI3000, etc. depending on local installation options. So far, the SNOMAN display routines are all written in Fortran and do not make direct calls to any of the low level routines. This was done on purpose so that all platform related problems will be handled by CERNLIB itself. For the same reason, the user interface for SNOMAN (not included in SNOMAN 2.06) will be based on the high level CERN user interface KUIP (Kit for User Interface Package). All event display related routines follow the naming convention dsp_xxxx.
