The NCDs consist of five regions:-
- Region IDRG_NCD_OVL, a cylinder representing the outer volume.
- Region IDRG_NCD_LIVL, a cylinder representing the active inner gas.
- Region IDRG_NCD_DIVL, a cylinder representing the gas between active regions.
- Region IDRG_NCD_WIRE, a cylinder representing the feed through between active regions.
- Region IDRG_NCD_EC, a cylinder representing the end caps that
seperate active and inactive regions.
User Control
The NCDs are disabled in the standard version of the code but can be switched
on with the command file GEOM_NCD.CMD. This just switches on the enable flag in
the GEDS bank of each region. The NCD outer volume array consists
of 96 strings of NCDs arranged in a square lattice of 1m spacing.
In each NCD, there may be from zero to five active regions, which is
adjustable in a seperate array for the live inner volumes. The given
positions of the NCDs and the individual counters correspond to the production
and insertion plan as of 7/97.
