Displaying Ntuples with Histo-Scope

Once SNOMAN and Histo-Scope have been started and attached (see above), Histo-Scope will display all of the currently active Ntuples. If no Ntuples are displayed, then one of three main cases exist:

  1. SNOMAN Live has not sent out an update since the Histo-Scope process attached. This will solve itself; wait for SNOMAN to send out an update.
  2. SNOMAN Live is not sending out an ntuple output at all. This will not solve itself; the code must be stopped and the command files corrected.
  3. Histo-Scope is not attached to this SNOMAN Live. Try disconnecting and reattaching (under the menu item files/processes) to the correct version of SNOMAN, paying particular attention to the user and start date.

To view the contents of one of the active Ntuples, simply double-click on it in the Histo-Scope window, or select the appropriate Ntuple and single-click ``view''. At this point, an ntuple data window should open. To view the contents of a column, click on the appropriate entry in the ``Variables'' subwindow and follow through by clicking on ``assign to V1''. Then, click on the ``Plot Type'' menu and select, ``Histogram''. Finally, click on the ``Plot'' button in the lower left hand of the window. To control the display options, press the right mouse button in the histogram window.

For more information, consult the Histo-Scope User's Manual at the above address.
