The SML processor reads the SMLC titles bank for two pieces of information:
- The auto-start histoscope switch. A zero specifies that SNOMAN Live
should start up without starting an attached Histo-Scope process. A
non-zero value requests that SML start up a Histo-Scope attached window.
Note that in either case, SML can later be attached to by starting up
Histo-Scope separately on the same machine and searching for the SNOMAN Live
process under the menu item ``file/process//connect to process''.
This switch can also be controlled by the command ``$sml_start_histo''.
For example:-
$sml_start_histo $yes
- The number of events SNOMAN processes before each update in
Histo-Scope. A period that is too large will create large delays
between in updatings of Histo-Scope. A period that is too small
might slow SNOMAN down marginally, dependant on the ``preferences//
update frequency'' setting on Histo-Scope. This variable can be set
by the ``$sml_update_period'' command. For example:-
$sml_update_period 100
