Crosstalk Generation

Although crosstalk is an electronics phenomenon, it is introduced in the form of additional MCPM banks, because once the crosstalk is stored in the ZDAB bank, unpacking will produce PMTs. Currently crosstalk generation is very crude. It is controlled by the optional MCXT bank. If the bank is missing, or the crosstalk threshold set to 0., no crosstalk is generated. Otherwise crosstalk is produced for all PMT channels whose charge (KMCPM_HEI) is above this threshold. For each channel a charge-dependent ``width'' is calculated and crosstalk MCPMs are produced for all PMT channels on the same card that are within this "width". The "width" concept allows the model to follow observed crosstalk behaviour within and between daughter board cards.
