The
Li calibration source consists of three regions:-
- Region IDRG_ICALI_LI8_CAN, either a sphere or a cylinder,
representing the outer cannister which encloses the source. It is
deployed and described in titles banks GEDP 170 and GEDS 170.
- Region IDRG_ICALI_LI8_CATH, either a sphere or a cylinder,
representing the cathode which is embedded in the
outer cannister. It is deployed and described in titles banks GEDP 172
and GEDS 172.
- Region IDRG_ICALI_LI8_GAS, either a sphere or a cylinder,
representing the inner gas volume which acts as a decay chamber for
the
Li, and which is embedded in the cathode. It is
deployed and described in titles banks GEDP 174 and GEDS 174.
User Control
The user control of this source is identical to that of the generic
inner calibration source, except that there are now THREE embedded
regions, and all three must be of the same type, i.e. three spheres or
three cylinders. The default specification of the geometry is as
follows :-
Region |
Medium |
Cylinder Radius |
Cylinder Half Height |
|
LI8_CAN |
Stainless Steel |
1.17 cm |
50.0 cm |

LI8_CATH |
