DMM uses the titles bank TDMM to control its operations. This bank starts with the default sizes to be used when creating DARN and DAMN banks. These numbers are not critical; DMM will expand banks as it needs. The remainder of the TDMM bank consists of a table of mask entries. The first word in each entry is the mask number (with -n for DAMN mask n) and the rest of the entry determines the version, the requirement level, verification and merging as described in the following sections. Each time DMM accesses a mask, it looks it up in this table to see how it is to be processed.
