Copying FZ files Between Unix and VMS

Care must be taken when transfering disk files across the network. The best way is to use the purpose built Zebra utility ZFTP but if this is not available the transfer can be achieved using FTP with care. Ensure that the transfer is by image by issuing the FTP command:-

type image

before transfering the file. In some versions of FTP, in particular MultiNet FTP running on VMS, you must also force it into stream mode by:-

mode stream
stream on

If transfering to a VMS platform the using dir/full on the transfered file should show:-
