FPS test details

  1. Run Type
Information on the run type is obtained from the run header RHDR bank. The settings of all the run type mask bits are written to the FPS text file. The required mask for Salt Neutrino runs is:

    Neutrino
    D2O
    Salt
    Comp Coils

Runs with the UC bit set, pass the criterion for UC Salt Neutrino runs. If any other bits are set in this mask the test fails.

  2. Trigger Mask
Information on the trigger mask for a run is obtained from the TRIG bank. For Salt Neutrino runs all the following triggers must be active:

    NHIT100Med
    NHIT100High
    NHIT20
    ESUMHi
    OWLN
    OWLEHi
    PulseGT
    Prescale

The trigger check also tests the threshold of the Nhit 100NMed trigger. The test will fail if it exceeds the value defined in the TFPS titles bank.
  3. DQXX tests
FPS tests the number of crates and PMTs online. Thresholds are set in TFPS for the minimum number of crates, PMTs, OWLS and BUTTS, and Necks online, and the test will fail if these criteria are not met. For a crate to be online, the global trigger must be enabled, and the high voltage must be on. For a PMT to be online, the sequencer, PMTIC, and RELAY must all be on.
  4. Run Time Tests
To evaluate the run time, FPS loops through all events, and takes the time difference between the first and last, as measured by both the 10MHz and 50MHz clocks. The code accounts for rollovers in the 50MHz clock and allows for the fact that the events may be out of order. Thresholds for the minimum run time for Neutrino and Neutrino UC bit runs are set in the TFPS bank. The test will fail if the 10MHz run time is shorter than the relevant threshold. There is also a maximum run time threshold. The amount of time cut out by the BURST cut, or RETRIGGER cut, taken from the /raa_com_subp_runlog_analysis/ common block, is also reported in the FPS text file. The Run Time Test will fail if more than a given fraction of the run, specified in TFPS, is cut by these cuts.
