To estimate the number of hits expected for a given event, FTK calculates
the probability that a single direct photon will be detected given the event position and direction. Similarly, the probability of a single Rayleigh scatter or AV reflected or PMT reflected photon being detected is calculated. The number of expected hits is the product of the number of Cerenkov photons produced (which varies as the energy in the fit is varied) and the probability of obtaining a hit. These probability parameters are stored in the data structure.
Other values of interest are
- Energy: Fitted energy for the event
- Positive Uncertainty: Positive error on the fit (derived from the LH space)
- Negative Uncertainty: Negative error on the fit (derived from the LH space)
- Neff: Number of observed hits for this event
