Writing Platform Independent Data

Normally you don't have to worry about ensuring that the data can be passed between different platforms. So long as all banks have correct I/O characteristic (i.e. bank format), then ZEBRA will take care of the conversion. If you want to take on this role, possibly because the bank layout makes the use of the ZEBRA format difficult, then you can use the CERN IEEE conversion routines. For single precision data you may use the routines IE3TOS and IE3FOS directly, but for double precision you must use SNO_IE3TOD and SNO_IE3FOD. See the file SNO_IE3_D.FOR for details.
