Note on NHIT cuts

Note that an NHIT veto is built into INP. If all you want to do is reject any event if it has less than say 23 hits, and go on to the next, the command:-

$input_nhit_thresh 23
will get the job done without the need to construct a FLTR bank. However, this cut must be used with caution as it applies to the NHITS value found in the ZDAB bank and, as explained in:-
Companion / Event Data Structure / The Event Data Structure Tree
this count is actually the number of PMT bundles and so includes outward looking and low gain PMT signals as well as any calibration signals fed through the FECs.
