The MTT system is layered onto the ZEBRA facility TZ. The additional
functionality it will eventually provide is:-
- Better validity range checking: TZ is too crude and requires
the user to supply the validity range.
- COMMON mapping: TZ only gives a link.
- Dynamically updating links and COMMONs as the data changes:
TZ requires the user to call it again.
A user may create or input additional titles banks in the xCONS memory using
the TZ routine TZSHUN - see the TZ reference manual. It is vital though that
any such banks have the standard Database header. Adding banks may mean that
existing ones move but there is no danger that this will leave bad links in
the LAxxxx Link Access arrays as these links have been declared to ZEBRA via
MZLINT. After adding titles in this way MT_REQUIRE_REFRESH must be called to
tell MTT that this bank needs to be reprocessed and then MT_SYNCHRONISE (or
MT_UPDATE_MEMORY) called to bring all links up to date so that SUs can access
the new bank.
