Titles is a generic name given to any set of data needed by the off-line
software in order that it can carry out an assigned task e.g. Monte Carlo or
Event Reconstruction. Such data covers a broad spectrum of types but most fall
into one of 2 groups:-
- Software Parameters i.e. constants that control the way the software runs e.g.
tolerance settings. Such data tends to be specific to a single piece of
software.
- Detector Description i.e. the physical characteristics of the detector e.g. the
PMT geometry. Such data tends to be used by more than one piece of software.
