The processors do the real work in SNOMAN. They run in an environment provided by the support systems. A typical processor draws its inputs from the central data structure and returns its outputs to it. So each processor acts independently of others. This miminises processor interdependence and makes changing existing processors or adding new ones as simple as possible. However this means that the design of the data structure is critical and its integrity of paramount importance.
